USA Swimming needs to determine who will represent the United States in the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics, and they’ll do that with the Olympic swimming trials, running from June 26 through July 3 in Omaha. Ledecky, 19, is entered in five events here at trials after deciding to scratch Sunday’s 400-meter individual medley in USA Swimming Trials. She’s entered in all the freestyle events, from the 50-meter to the 800-meter, the event in which she won gold in London in 2012.

2016 USA swimming Trials : Day one Prelims Heat Sheet – Results
Katie Ledecky has scratched the four hundred IM. She was the fifth seed. There had still been a possibility that she would swim the event to get a race under her belt. without the four hundred IM, her 1st swim of the meet will come on Monday morning with the four hundred freestyle prelims.
Other top sixteen seeded swimmers to scratch are Becca Mann who was entered fourth within the women’s four hundred IM and Adam Hinshaw, who was sixteenth in the men’s four hundred IM.
In the men’s 100 breaststroke, teen phenoms Michael Andrew and Reece Whitley will swim next to every other in heat 13 as the 2 takes lanes six and 7, respectively.
