Swimmers Sajan Prakash and Shivani Kataria will represent india at the Rio Olympic Games, according to the Swimming Federation of india. after a protracted wait, the names of the swimmers set to represent India at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games have been revealed by the Swimming Federation of India on Tuesday. The 2015 National Games star Sajan Prakash and 2016 South Asian Games gold medallist Shivani Kataria have been chosen by the SFI as Rio wildcards.
Sajan Prakash, who was the standout performer at the last National Games winning half-dozen gold and three silver medals, was one among 5 Indian swimmers who had earned the ‘B’ qualification mark for the 2016 Games.
The pair was chosen via the universality Rule that permits one male and female swimmer from the country to take part in the Olympic Games provided the country has no swimmer qualified under the ‘A’ qualification time. The people in question must even have taken part in the Fina World Championships 2015 in Kazan.
