Pakistan Select 4 swimmer for Rio Olympics

The Pakistan Swimming Federation on Thursday declared a four member team that will represent the country at the Rio Olympic Games in August. “The team comprising 2 male and 2 female swimmers was picked based on FINA Points earned throughout 16th World Swimming Championship held in Kazan, Russia (Olympic Qualification Round),” said PSF Secretary General Veena Masud in a statement. The team members are Lianna Swan, Harris Bandey, Saad Amin and annum Bandey. She said the chosen swimmers earned points in their various events. “It is believed that the FINA points earned by the swimmers will amply clarify all doubts and critics concerning the selection criteria of the swimmers for the Rio Olympic Games 2016, which is only supported merit and justice,” added the PSF secretary.

Pakistan’s 4 swimmers are following :-

1: Lianna Swan 50m breaststroke (479) and 50m freestyle (567). Total points earned 1046.

2: Harris Bandey 200m IM (514) and 400m freestyle (530). Total points earned 1044.

3: Saad Amin 50m freestyle (508) and 50m butterfly (533). Total points earned 1041

4: annum Bandey 100m breaststroke (432) and 200m breaststroke (476). Total points earned 908
