Michael Fred Phelps II is an American competition swimmer and the most decorated Olympian of all time, with a total of 24 medals.

Michael Phelps has done it! That was mightily close for the American! Gold to Phelps. His 20th Olympic gold medal. What a finale! Masato Sakhi of Japan takes silver and Tama Kenderesi comes in for bronze. Chad Le Clos, though, can only finish fourth.
