Kalisz became the first U.S swimmer to qualify for the Rio Games with a gold in 400 meter medley. He took control of the race during the breaststroke leg and despite efforts from Jay Litherland, Kalisz held on to take the title and automatic selection to his first Olympic Games. Chase Tyler Kalisz (born March 7, 1994) is an American competition swimmer who specializes in the individual medley, but also competes in the breaststroke and butterfly events. At the 2016 United States Olympic Trials, Kalisz qualified for the 2016 Olympic Team for the 400 Meter Individual Medley with a time of 4:09.54. AND in today’s Heat he did 4:08:12.

While Travis Mahoney won his Heat with Time 4:13:53 i.e, Heat 2 and Kosuke Hagino from Japan touched First In his Heat with Time 4:10:00.
